Riddle of the week:

If Trump supported a cold-blooded murdering thug because he headed an important state AND, anyway, he admires all cold-blooded murdering thugs allied with the U.S....

And if Biden supports the same cold-blooded murdering thug because he heads an important state, even though he would prefer the thug not so blatantly murder in cold blood...

... What is the difference?

On October 2, 2018, Saudi Arabian journalist, U.S. resident and Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi was murdered and his body dismembered in the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, after he’d been lured there by Saudi officials on the pretext of providing him papers for his upcoming wedding.   A U.S. intelligence report released February 26, 2021 says that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (known as MBS) of Saudi Arabia approved the assassination.

The U.S. imperialists, under Democrats as well as Republicans, have seen Saudi Arabia as a pillar of American domination of the Middle East and the world. When MBS launched a war of mass slaughter, starvation, and disease in Yemen, he had the backing of Barack Obama and the U.S. The U.S. has turned a blind eye to many other crimes committed by MBS, including kidnapping of the Lebanese prime minister and crushing of internal dissent. Now, Biden has released a U.S. intelligence report (which was suppressed by Trump) fingering MBS as having “approved” Khashoggi’s murder by a special unit reporting to him—but refused to put any sanctions on MBS himself.

Answer to the riddle:

To the People of the World—No Difference at All.

The interests, objectives, and grand designs of the imperialists are not our interests—they are not the interests of the great majority of people in the U.S. nor of the overwhelming majority of people in the world as a whole. And the difficulties the imperialists have gotten themselves into in pursuit of these interests must be seen, and responded to, not from the point of view of the imperialists and their interests, but from the point of view of the great majority of humanity and the basic and urgent need of humanity for a different and better world, for another way.
