To whom it may concern,

The event Revolution and Religion on November 15 is the occasion of a lifetime. This event is what many people have spent their whole lives fighting for. People have fought their entire lives for the freedom of speech. The dialogue between Cornel West and Bob Avakian will be a discussion, alike no other, in which the fight for emancipation and the role of religion will addressed in the best interest of humankind. The inequality and violence that has billions cornered and excluded from society stems out of a seed of greed that is nurtured by capitalist interests.

I need to listen and submerge into the atmosphere of this discussion to learn the means to help emancipate humankind from the chains created by capitalist ideals. There are countless public issues and social dilemmas, and religion is usually a strong influence in the interpretations of popular controversies. Bob Avakian, the Chairman of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA, has brought forward a new synthesis of communism to emancipate humanity from the oppression provoked by capitalism. Religion has always been among the most influential aspects of society and culture. The culture religions inspire among believers has a significant effect on how people react to public issues that are controversial. Having Cornel West, a Christian revolutionary, elaborate on religion and its role in society, and on how it could hinder or be an asset to revolution is a revolutionary conversation. It is rare for there to be an honest, uncensored, and open conversation on topics as relevant and controversial as these are. The experience of the two speakers and understanding of their own corresponding fields will allow these two revolutionaries to bring to the surface what is needed for humanity to wake up and stand up against injustice and inequality. How this message is received by people will predispose the future of humanity. As someone who seeks to teach younger students, community organize, and mentor people in self-advocacy; I feel I need to be present during the dialogue. The aspirations of the two speakers are no less than aspirations for the improvement in human quality of life, and precisely those are the type of aspirations I need to familiarize with to lead people towards the emancipation of humanity.

People seek inspiration and guidance in readings, paintings, and symbols. Well, I see this dialogue as a symbol. A symbol of hope, and the opportunity for a culture of social change to flourish. This conversation could influence new debates and new theories for what could be the future of humanity. I must surround myself with those who advocate for social change and fight to uplift humanity in order to, learn and teach how to help emancipate humanity.

Sincerely
