The biggest immediate problem right now is that all this is basically not known. It's not on the scene in the way it needs to be—engaged and discussed, popularized and debated. And to solve that problem, there is, right now, a major fundraising campaign to make Avakian's work and leadership known in every corner of society.

"My brother was a revolutionary in Iran during the vicious rule of the US-backed Shah. After the revolution, under the Khomeni regime, he continued his revolutionary work. He was arrested, held for two months, tortured, and finally executed. He would have been 58 years old if he had lived. My family members have each pitched in funds, and together we are donating $100 to the BA Everywhere "1000 years – $1000" campaign, so his life can count for the emancipation of humanity."
